CONCLUSION
After the Siren and the Video Replay
High Mark arose out of a series of fortnightly football seminars held at Victoria University in Melbourne, between 1995 and 1998. The seminars were known as the Fortnightly Footy Feast  and featured presentations on significant issues in Australian rules football. This compilation of papers covers a broad range of topics, including football violence, the threats posed by globalisation, and the growing role of player associations and industry  tribunals. High Mark also addresses the fascinating notion that football is not just sport, but also theatre and entertainment. Channel 9s Thursday night Footy Show, and Channel 7 Monday night Talking Footy are singled out for detailed analysis.
